I remember it like yesterday that we still speculate things about the existence of the Galaxy S5 Mini. Oh, right, it WAS yesterday, things like the release date, specification and such. Well, today, the first of July, Samsung announces the next Mini (which is not so mini) after almost a year in the S mini line up, the Galaxy S5 Mini.

So, what is this phone? It is a mid-range with a flagship name and a flagship’s look. Yes, it looks just like a shrunken down version of the Galaxy S5. Under the hood, however, things are a whole lot different. All around, we have a 4.5-inch Super AMOLED HD display with 720 x 1280 resolution, a quad-core 1.4GHz processor, 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage (expandable via MicroSD up to 64 GB), 8-megapixel main camera, 2.1 MP front facing camera, 2,100mAh battery, and Android 4.4 KitKat on board, in addition to the usual Touch Wiz (including a heart-rate monitor and fingerprint scanner).

Availability wise, the phone sets to reach Russia this month (July), follow by a global release. For color options, we have Charcoal Black, Shimmery White, Electric Blue and Copper Gold. There is no information from Samsung about pricing.
