Although Motorola is now acquired by Lenovo, the perks of running its phones on almost stock Android is that it is quite easy to optimize the OS to their own phone, and with Motorola, it is near if not no work at all to make the update works on their phone. Well, 4.4.4 updates have now been pushed out. Although there are some devices already have 4.4.3 updates, for a lot of devices, they will skip the 4.4.3 which brings a new dialer, and bugs fixed from 4.4 KitKat. Now, 4.4.3 only has arrived on Nexus devices, and most of device out there will be skipping 4.4.3 and go straight to 4.4.4.
So what is in 4.4.4? The update beside contains what were in 4.4.3, it also have new video recording features, like pause and continue filming where you left off and improvement in the OpenSSL due to the recent Hearbleed vulnerability. Now, this update has been rolling out in Brazil and India for the Moto G, and the Moto E (Brazil, France, Canada and the Asian Pacific market). Motorola US says that the Droid Ultra will be updated to Android 4.4.4.
For the Droid MAXX and Droid Mini, there was no mention of updating, but rumors have been going around that the devices are being tested for the update. The Moto X for T-mobile has already received the 4.4.3, so 4.4.4 will be coming soon.
