Microsoft’s unification keeps becoming more unified across all of its platforms. Today, we learned about new details on the way IE 11 allows users to share the same website passwords when using IE browser on Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8.1.
In IE11, Windows will use your IE saved credentials for that same domain hosted in Store app via the Web Authentication Broker. As always, Store apps will never be able to read the credentials stored in IE. Windows Store apps using the Web Authentication Broker today will automatically get this experience with no additional markup required. And, your site and app credentials will roam between your PC and mobile devices as well.”
IE 11 in the past can shared tabs between two operating systems, and now Microsoft offers to share information on how passwords are synced between platforms. The feature can also be used for the credential inside Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 apps, as stated above by Microsoft.
The web browser will also pre-load username and password as the web page loaded. For security informant, IE will still ask if users want to save passwords.
