Since the launch of the Galaxy S5, we have started to see rumors of a metal Samsung Galaxy device. About two weeks ago, we saw the name Galaxy Alpha appeared and two leaks of the handset. As of right now, all we know is that the only part of the handset that is metal (or at least looks like metal) is the frame that surrounds the body of the phone. Well, today, we got some new image of the handset.
The pictures confirmed a few things. The phone back plate is made of plastic (still), and it is a smaller device than the Galaxy S5. Also, with rumors suggest that it has the same display as the Galaxy S3, it’s quite possible that this is a mid-range device. The leak pictures allow us to see all sides of the device, including the metal frames that are surrounding the phone. The phone also appears to be functional, with the lock screen on.
Information that goes with these leaks is things that we’ve heard before: 720p panel. We also see the source mentioned the processor that Samsung is considering right now, and one of them is the Exynos 5433. But here is the thing, that would put this 720p display phone in the high-end line, which does not make sense for a handset that features a 720p display. This Exynos 5433 has been rumored to be the next SoC or the Galaxy Note 4.
