LG won’t be making the Nexus 6, says a company executive.

Google-Nexus-5-review-vs-nexus-4

As much as we love the Nexus line, a lot of rumors did year point to the replacement of the line, Android Silver, rather than a new Nexus phone. Although some think that there might be no phone at all this year, some reports show that there will be a phone from Google. Well, some of the information that LG’s Communication director Ken Hong tells us, there is quite a large chance that his company won’t be making the next Nexus.

I know at least not yet. Normally, we were informed. This can mean two things. Either I was ignored, or we will not make it (the Nexus)”.

Although he believes that his company won’t be making a Nexus phone this year, he did not deny the possibility of a Nexus 6 or Project Silver device in the work from Google, just that it’s not necessary will be from LG. In the same report, the Communication Director does not feel sorry that Google might have picked another OEM to make the next Nexus phone because of the troubling in satisfying the supply demand for the Nexus 5 that caused them some PR problems.

Google determines how many phones are to be made, and we do that. If it is stated that LG produces too few Nexus phones, the media then is simply incorrect. We get asked, we deliver.”

So now, the question becomes who will be making the next Nexus, or Android Silver? As of right now, the only rumor about the Nexus line is HTC is making a high-end Nexus 8 (which might or might not be unveiled at Google I/O next week). Will there be a chance that HTC is coming back as a Nexus maker? Or an Android Silver?
