In the past 2 or 3 years, Qualcomm was the company that is trusted by OEMs with producing reliable processor for your phone. Although there were some emerged, like the Exynos in some of the Samsung phone, or the Nvidia Tegra chips, but none can compete with the giant Qualcomm. And yes, Apple was doing its own thing, but for the non-Apple phones, Qualcomm is the comment choice for those who make their buying decision on the processor. Well, now a little competition will break out as the giant of Chinese Smartphone has gone out of its norm and announces the HiSilicon Clarion 920 SoC.
The 920 is an octa-core big.LITTLE arrangement-with 4 A15s and 4 A7s. All of these have the capability to be used synchronously. The GPU Mali-628MP4 supports 2K display and 4K video recording. The processor is also compatible with high-speed LTE Cat 6.
Although this company is new to making chip processor, and no matter what benchmark report says, the user experience on a daily use is still more important than how many points the 920 get in the benchmark test.
