Well, it is not a surprise that people who installed the Windows Phone 8.1 has been enjoying it so far, Cortana has been fantastic for everyone, but here is the problem, it is not here yet! Partially because it is simply not done, and we are all waiting for it. Of course you can get the Lumia 630 and 635 but that is nothing, listen to what Jerry Berg, Senior Software Development Engineer at Microsoft has to say:
The exact tease from Berg is: “something is going to happen in the Windows Phone space which is going to upset the entire world across anything… Wait for it, it’s going to be pretty amazing.” Wow, if that does not make you excited, I do not know what will. That is all he is telling us for now, and although this comment, as I say again, exciting, it is a glass half empty.
The question now would be “What the heck is he talking about?” Well, there are many theories. One of the more gimmicky phone that has been rumored for a while now is the Lumia 1020’s successor, codenamed “McLaren.” Beside the giant camera on its back, the words are that it will feature a 3D touch system that has been in the Kinect on the Xbox for years. That is expected to be the first Microsoft’s Windows Phone handset after the Nokia acquisition.
Beside that, what would be considered “pretty amazing?” Is there anything that Microsoft has not mentioned to us about the Windows Phone 8.1 update at the keynote? Or is it somehow, Microsoft will actually make us believe that we need a phone with the 3D touch system? At this point, we don’t have enough information to make an accurate speculation, but due to the fact that the “McLaren” has been in the rumor mill for a while, there is a very high chances that this device is the “pretty amazing” thing, and it is, we can expect to see it on the holiday season of 2014.
